Project Outline

The proposal concerns the erection of a two-storey replacement dwelling in Buckland.

The site is located in the Metropolitan Green Belt which adds a layer of complexity to the application, as applications concerning a replacement dwelling in the Green Belt are often deemed inappropriate development. This caused problems in the past with previous proposals for a replacement dwelling being declined and deemed an inappropriate development in the Green Belt.

WS Planning & Architecture were tasked with acquiring planning permission following two previous applications that were both refused. We ensured the proposal included materials that blended with the characteristics of the surrounding area, creating a greater visual appeal than the existing building resulting in a design that does not detract from the undeveloped area of the countryside. This resulted in a successful planning application that was granted conditional approval at local level.
