Project Outline
Conversion and extension of existing house to provide 7 apartments in Purley
This project is for the conversion and extension of an existing house to provide 7 apartments. This project has been designed following extensive guidance from the Council at the pre-application stage. The project proposes a careful re-interpretation and extension of the existing terraces that ‘stitch’ the urban fabric together on this corner plot.
WS Planning & Architecture acted as the Planning Agent for this project, the Planning team produced a Sequential Test to complement the Flood Risk Assessment submitted with the application. Due to the complexity of the proposal, it was necessary for the application to be heard at Committee. Spencer Copping, Planning Director at WS Planning & Architecture spoke at committee in support of the application which was then recommended for approval.

OUTCOME
COMMENTS
If an application is due to be heard at Committee, it is particularly important that you register to speak in the event that a third party speaks against the proposal. There is often an opportunity to address comments made to committee members and in some cases committee members are able to raise questions or ask for clarification from speakers on the night. This application demonstrates the need to further front load applications with enough detail for all parties concerned.
