This project involved the demolition of an outbuilding for the erection of a part single storey, part two storey building to form a 1-bedroom house in the urban area. This type of development is not uncommon in the local area, as similar conversions of other outbuildings have taken place, however, there has been a variety of refused and approved applications.
WS Planning & Architecture acted as the Planning Agent for this proposal liaising with preferred partners and other consultants. This project follows pre-application advice received by the council to ensure the best chance of success for the application. The proposal was appropriately amended following feedback at the pre-application stage. The proposed project would be of innovative and contemporary design, using high-quality materials to ensure it is visually attractive. The project includes the use of timber cladding and a green roof. This proposal was granted approval with conditions at the local level, an excellent result.
