Purley Rise, Purley
This project concerns the construction of a two/three storey building to provide three new flats in Purley. This application follows a previous proposal which was dismissed at appeal. Therefore, the project was revised and consequently received a positive pre-application response from the Council. The proposal is located on a site where an appropriate intensification of the use of the site is accepted. Therefore, the erection of an apartment block would ensure the most efficient use of land whilst providing a good housing mix.
Acting as the Planning Agent for the project, WS Planning & Architecture ensured all issues raised in the previous application were appropriately amended to ensure the best chance of a positive outcome for this project WS Planning & Architecture prepared a planning statement to accompany the application alongside plans and drawings from other consultants. Subsequently, the application was approved at Planning Committee subject to a Legal Agreement.
This project had a long and complex history with a previous application being dismissed at appeal despite receiving a positive response at the pre-application stage. This highlights the complexity of the planning system, with the outcome sometimes being unexpected. However, for this application WS Planning & Architecture were able to achieve approval at the local level of the revised application.
