Project Outline
The current proposal followed the change of use from a residential dwelling to a nursery school in Banstead. This project followed pre-application advice received from the council. The pre-application confirmed there would be no in principle objections to the change of use. The project included the demolition of existing rear extension and the erection of a new rear and side extension, as well as a number of interior alterations, and the change of use.
WS Planning & Architecture provided both planning and architectural services, liaising with a number of preferred partners in the application process. WS Planning & Architecture pulled together reports from the consultants as well as producing drawings for the application and supporting the application with a detailed Planning, Design and Access Statement. The application was approved with conditions on 30th April 2021.
The project provided an excellent opportunity for Millbank Nurseries providing a permanent premises for Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School. This is particularly important as the permanent premises will ensure they are able to access the Government’s funded 30-hour offering for childcare, highlighting the benefits of this permanent site compared with a temporary premises.
