For this project, the architectural team at WS Planning & Architecture worked with the client and other consultants to produce a suitable proposal for the site. This project has a complex planning history, following a withdrawn application for 6 dwellings, the application was amended and resubmitted for pre-application advice, which was followed by the submission of a full planning application for a 5-unit scheme. Unfortunately, the application was refused at the local level for reasons such as over development and impact on residential and neighbouring amenity. However, the applicant appealed the decision which was allowed.
The proposal site is located within the urban area on two plots which are significantly larger than other plots in the surrounding area. The design of the project is of high quality including two types of housing design. The design of the project reflects the character and grain of development in the local area.
