5 bedroom detached house in Kent
For this project, WS Planning & Architecture were tasked with acquiring planning permission for this modern and innovatively designed detached dwelling in Kent. The contemporary detached dwelling consists of 3 floors with 5 ensuite bedrooms.
During the pre-application process it became clear the site is situated within the 7-9km Zone of Influence for Ashdown Forest and is also part of the Broadwater Down Conservation Area. However, this was not a cause of concern as the design of the dwelling ensured it reflected the contours of the land. By using the topography of the site, the dwelling sits behind the landscape, therefore does not negatively impact the amenity of neighbouring properties. Additionally, the location of the proposal ensures it does not affect the appearance of Ashdown Forest. WS Planning & Architecture were pleased to obtain conditional planning permission for this new dwelling.
Achieving planning permission for this dwelling was a great success, due to the contemporary design and site constraints revealed at the pre-application stage. This proposal highlights the importance of the pre-application stage and communication with the council to provide the best chance of success for the application proposal.
