Project Outline

This project was referred to the Planning Team at WS by Jameson Architectural Surveyors following a refusal at local level. The Council deemed the rear addition would be harmful to the Warren and The Glade Residential Area of Special Character (RASC) in Kingswood, Surrey by virtue of its bulk and visible and expansive crown roof and poor design. We prepared the detailed Grounds of Appeal and submitted and handled the Householder appeal on behalf of the applicants. The Inspector chosen to determine the appeal agreed with our submission that the proposal would not contravene Local Planning policy including the more restrictive policy protection afforded to properties in the RASC. At para 4 the Inspector cited the examples put forward within the appeal submission and found that the proposal would reflect the examples of such roofs found within the RASC.
