Project Outline

This proposal concerns the conversion of an outbuilding to an independent dwelling. The application site is located within the urban area where the principle of development is accepted. WS Planning & Architecture provided both Architectural and Planning services for this proposal. Due to the main dwelling on site being a Grade II Listed building, the impact of the proposal on the character of the area had to be carefully considered. However, WS Planning & Architecture demonstrated the change of use from an outbuilding to an independent dwelling would not be harmful to the character of the local area. Therefore, the proposal was approved with conditions at Local Level.

Conditional approval at Local Level

COMMENTS

Planning permission is made harder to achieve on sites with Listed buildings, as development must be in keeping and not negatively impact the character and appearance of the site. However, converting the existing outbuilding while encompassing a suitable design, this was overcome.
