Emily Munro

Emily joined WS in 2017. In 2021, she became a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and in 2022, Emily was promoted to Associate Director.

Following a month’s work experience at the beginning of 2017, Emily went on to join the WS Team permanently as a Graduate Planner, after completing her Degree in Geography at the University of Southampton. Emily was promoted to Planner in October 2018.

In 2019, Emily completed her MSc in Spatial Planning at UCL, having investigated a range of topics including neighbourhood planning, urban design and planning for housing.

Emily’s main role at WS is undertaking planning-related research to inform professional planning advice, writing documents for pre-application enquiries, applications and appeals, coordinating consultants and assisting our clients achieve planning permission. Emily has undertaken planning related work for both the private sector and on behalf of Local Authorities and community groups. She has worked on a wide variety of projects, at all stages including minor and major residential developments, home extensions, education, agricultural and commercial uses.
