The Old Pheasantry had been used by a charity since 1985.
YMCA East Surrey now manages and owns The Old Pheasantry following a merger with the original owners, Land and City Family Trust (LCFT).
It serves as a residential centre for a special needs school, providing accommodation for up to 27 people.
The larger part of the main building is used as accommodation while the remaining part of the building was leased to Merrywood House School, as a Special Education Needs (SEN) for primary school age children.
Full planning permission was required to secure this change of use. Having liaised with the Applicants and Preferred Partners, WS Planning & Architecture were able to prepare supporting documentation for the purposes of the application, as well as the planning appeal, following an unfortunate refusal at Planning Committee.
