Felix Smithson

Felix joined the WS Planning Team as Planning Technician in March 2022, progressing to Graduate Planner in October 2023, and Planner in October 2024. He graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering in 2021.

Felix works on a range of projects around the country from small-scale householder projects to major mixed-use schemes. Felix has significant experience in identifying the potential of land for development and unlocking this through the planning process, primarily preparing and managing planning applications and appeals. This involves expertise navigating key constraints such as the Green Belt and more recently ‘Grey Belt’, as well as an understanding of technical constraints such as Highways, Flooding, and Ecology/Biodiversity to then engage with external consultants (often our Preferred Partners) where necessary.

Outside of work, Felix has a keen interest in a host of sports and is an avid runner and member of Reigate Priory Athletics Club.
