Emily Hall

Associate Director & Chartered Planner

Emily joined WS in September 2017 and became a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in August 2021. In May 2022, Emily was promoted to Associate Director.

Following a month’s work experience with us in April 2017, Emily joined the WS Team in September 2017 as a Graduate Planner, after completing her Degree in Geography at the University of Southampton. Emily was promoted to Planner in October 2018.

In September 2019, Emily completed her MSc in Spatial Planning at UCL, having investigated a range of topics including neighbourhood planning, urban design and planning for housing. Emily was promoted to Senior Planner in October 2019 and her main role at WS is undertaking planning-related research to inform professional planning advice, writing documents for pre-application enquiries and applications and appeals, and assisting our clients achieve planning permission.

Emily recently obtained planning permission for a change of use from a dwellinghouse to a school in Tandridge District and also spoke at Croydon Planning Committee in support of a successful major housing development.

Alongside her full-time University Degree, Emily undertook several work experience placements, work with the Future Merton team at the London Borough of Merton Council, gaining valuable experience in the public sector, and as an Intern for Grosvenor Property Group.
