Bola Ogundipe

Bola joined WS in October 2022 as a Graduate Town Planner after completing his MSc in Urban Regeneration at UCL. Previously he studied Geography at The University of Manchester undertaking a module in Governing Urban Transformation, which sparked his interest in becoming a Town Planner.

During his MSc, Bola researched topics including urban regeneration debates, urban design frameworks, regeneration project management, and disparities in neighbourhood plan adoption. Previously, for his undergraduate degree, he studied Manchester’s homeless hotspots to address this growing issue.

From August 2023, Bola also undertook the role of Planning Officer for 6 months at Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, handling over 50 householder planning applications in the Borough. This additional experience provided a rounded perspective of the planning process by working for the public and private sector, that has been crucial to help further his knowledge of the planning system.

Additionally, Bola has gained experience, in writing Planning Statements, Householder Applications, Planning Design and Access Statements, and submitting and developing various forms of arguments for appeal applications. Bola also has gained a wide range of experience in planning appraisals and site analysis tools to better understand areas of land that are viable and feasible for development.

Outside of the workplace Bola enjoys film photography, collecting vinyl records, and is an keen Arsenal supporter.
