Brian worked for five Local Planning Authorities culminating as Head of Development Control for Runnymede Borough Council. He was subsequently Planning Manager at a Commercial Property Company, Associate at a Planning Consultancy and now Managing Director of WS Planning & Architecture, which he started in 1992. He has gained over 30 years of experience in planning and regularly acts as an expert planning witness at Public Inquiries for a wide range of clients.
Brian is a member of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). Having been Regional Chair for the South East he was subsequently elected to the role of National Councillor for the FSB and now Vice Chair of National Council. The FSB is a non-political organisation and he is regularly in contact with the Government and MP’s to further the best interests of small businesses throughout the UK. Brian regularly meet MP’s to put forward the views of the FSB and its members. He is interviewed on the radio on business matters as they effect small businesses on a wide range of topics including the closure of bank branches, business rates, the effect of Covid 19 on small business to name a few.
