Planning & Architecture
This property is within the Green Belt but near the village of Newchapel in Surrey. The clients brief sought to optimise the space within the dwelling by improving the traditional form and transforming a building that had fallen into disrepair.
The design comprises the retention of its traditional and symmetrical form with the intervention of modern features and detail that enhance the appearance of the property. The two-storey side extension blends with the existing re-worked house with the asymmetrical porch adding interest to the front façade. Other features such as the dormers, windows and landscaping offer the property a simple yet pleasant aesthetic.
Planning Consent at local level and Building Regulations.
A precedent highlighting the transformation of an existing property that was developed closely with the client to become a modern and desirable piece of architecture. In addition to enhancing the appearance, the layout and value was optimised through a cost-effective investment where early liaison with a builder allowed the process to be smooth and affordable.
