Lee Barker

Lee joined WS in August 2014 as an Associate and was appointed a Director in April 2015. He heads the Architectural Team and has overall responsibility for their output. This involves overseeing and being directly involved in all projects from Preparation & Brief to their conclusion.

Lee leads the WS Work Experience and Apprenticeships Programmes.

In October 2022 WS Planning & Architecture acquired Brouard Architects to extend the practice’s reach into Bromley and its surrounding areas. As MD, Lee is responsible for the operation and output of the practice.

He studied Architecture at the Universities of Sheffield and Newcastle before heading to London to pursue his career and settling in Croydon in 1998. He became a Registered and Chartered Architect in 1999, after gaining experience on various private housing, social housing, healthcare, and pharmaceutical research projects.

Lee went on to spend 4 years working for a private practice in Croydon, further honing his experience by specialising in housing projects. In 2003, he joined a Purley based regional development company as their in-house Architect. Lee progressed to Head of Architecture & Planning and Technical Director, responsible for delivery of both planning and technical consent for 250 units a year. During that time, he developed expertise in Renewable Energy and building to high levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes. In 2009, Lee set up his own architectural practice in Croydon, specialising in architecture, planning, development, and contract coordination services to housing developer and design & build contractor clients.
