Extension, internal alterations, childrens play area & additional parking at The Jolly Farmers, Reigate Road, Betchworth, Surrey

OUR INVOLVEMENT

Planning & Architecture

Project Outline

WS Planning & Architecture obtained planning permission for a large function room, outdoor play area and additional car parking at the Jolly Farmers. The case presented a number of challenges, not least the fact that the Jolly Farmers is located within the Metropolitan Green Belt, which means there is a presumption against the extension of commercial premises, especially where they have been extended in the past.

Application Granted at Local Level subject to conditions

COMMENTS

Through discussions with the Local Planning Authority, the provision of an architect led design and comprehensive package of very special circumstances we were able to fully justify the proposal. The architectural and planning team at WS Planning & Architecture were able to show that the proposals were fully justified and essential to the ongoing viability of the local producers within this community. We look forward to working with the Jolly Farmers in seeing the project through to completion. We are now in the process of submitting the Building Regulations application through our partnering scheme with Tandridge District Council and preparing documentation for the Tender process.
